Nashville's Andy Joe Stewart!

Hello all ...well it's been a long time! ...my life gets to be such a whirlwind that it's hard to get a handle sometimes! Since I last updated this section I've moved three times, fallen in love twice, released two new songs (I just put them on this site!) and settled into Livermore, California. I'm still amazed every morning I awake in this beautiful wine country. I'm still working on gigging the Tri-Valley and trying to get more winery gigs in this area.
I've made some amazing friends and on my birthday last June I was thrown a surprise party at which they gave me a new Ovation Custom Legend acoustic/ele guitar!!!! It's a beauty and I'll post a picture soon.

I'm recording "Come Saturday Night" and it will be on the radio soon! Thanks everybody!

Hello friends ...I'm having a time of it here in Pleasanton! Daughter Anna Leigh Stewart graduates this Friday June 11th and I'm very proud. I'm doing better and better working the area's fine restaurants. I now live in a beautiful bachelor house and Jim the landlord is a great guy! He's cleaning the pool and Jacuzzi and the house is looking good. I've been using his "Land Rider" bicycle and going on long rides. My new singer Ms. Amber Lancaster sometimes goes with me ...what beautiful country. I'm writing and practicing and feeling very happy.
The band is slowly being built ..I have Amber, a front singer, and a sax player ....finding the most important part, the drummer, will be a little harder! I'll keep doing the 'single' for a year at least ...a lot of work for an experienced solo act ...and meeting all the good people is more fun than I remember!
Still waiting on the 4 new songs from Michael Radford in Nashville ....should be any day now. You can hear the new "A Little Love" at my company's website ...www.coltrecords.com/ ....thank you and love to you all ....almost!

I'm home! I can't believe how beautiful it is here ...vineyards, hills and tall trees (that are not pines) ...I see my girls almost everyday! 4 new songs to radio next month. One is on the coltrecords.com site ...seems my boss JK has put a 'teaser track on! It's called "A Little Love" ...all's going great! Winning the Open Mics too! ...a job at the Lawrence Livermore Labs!..testing guitar players in a 100 MPH wind tunnel! great fun!...more soon ...ajs

I'm a little sad ...I love Olympia, but it's actually a small town and I've had my run. Also, I'm just too lonely for my family ...I'm going home. I'll live near my daughters in California ...sun, Palm trees, beaches, Eucalyptus trees (my fav!). I'm going to do some horse ranching with another entertainer in the Pleasanton-Livermore area east of Oakland ...maybe get some fodder for my new songs! I'll work & gig locally there and continue to try and finish my new album for Colt Records ...the wheels turn slow.

The 4 new songs are still in Nashville ...stay tuned!

Still having a slow go of Olympia ...looking for a much better 2010! Maybe go on tour with my son Chad of "Fighting Iris" or open for a major country act ...we'll see. Finally putting the new country band together!

The 4 new songs are in Nashville being mixed and mastered by the one and only Michael Radford of AMI Records. I'm very excited about this release.

Hello all! It's turning out to be a good end to a lousy year! I'm working music gigs ...and with JK at Colt Records, a new 'backer' and a new 'Visionary' friend, I'm on a roll! Also I'm learning to golf ...a regular Tiger Woods!HA I even have a set of clubs! I love the beautiful city of Olympia.

I'm going into the recording studio on September 29th and will finish the new 6 song "Extended Play" CD! ...FINALLY! Colt Records and I are very excited about the new recordings! I have some good songs ready and will post them on here as soon as I finish. They will be available through here and ColtRecords.com and other places as well. This next year should be a great year for me as I hope to tour with a 'name' act and also finish the 10 song album/CD.

Please take an hour, sit down and seriously watch the video 'Before Music Dies documentary' .. about radio, record companies and musicians ...it changed my life ...along with my new associations with people here in Olympia ...what a town!

Hello friends! After talking with close (real) friends and receiving a few offers and compliments I've decided to keep "3D" going, but we will change our name to "AJ's Hired Guns" ...because of the type of rock dance band we are, you never know where or when a gig will show up! I won't put much effort into the agent end, but will use my personal agent to show the band around. I still might join a band that is working and one where I will NOT be in charge!HA I will continue to promote my "single" act which is successful and totally fun!

This past year or more I have let myself be associated with negative people with bad habits and bad attitudes. I know it's actually up to me to put myself in good health and positive positions ...I let these people get to me and almost went down the tubes, but self-realization is a hard subject to address for almost anyone. Now I'm on a good track ...I'm semi-happy again and now looking forward to my new 4 record release, a new band, and continued success in the great Northwest and USA! I have changed my health program and eating habits (WAY less meat!) and though it hasn't been long, I feel totally different and better than ever before. I have high hopes for a heathier life in a career that is very demanding.

I love this little capital city! Good musicians and artists everywhere! Think I'll live here for awhile and get into a band that needs a little help. Doing a 'single' already two times a month in Union, on the Hood Canal, about 35 miles north so all is going well. Writing and finishing my CD for ColtRecords.com ...got some great new songs I'll put on this site in a month or so. Soon as I join a band I'll let you all know!

Seems I jumped into a dream world ...dreams are all that's here. It's very hard to musically break into this town so far. I'm losing patience ..and weight! I'm giving it half a year at least so I'll keep trying for now.

My friend Marc Love is/was full of air! ..and a woman ..as usual. No work or auditions at all from him.

Vegas sure is pretty though!

Couldn't get my harp player 'The Beef' (photos) to move as of yet, but maybe in the near future. Hopefully the Vegas super harmonica player 'Monk' will be available to cover.

My friend and versatile player/singer Tonja Jacobsen did get the gig with Berti Higgins so CONGRATS to her! Who wouldn't want her! ...what a gal!

Hello all! It's almost October and I have been busy trying to find music work in Las Vegas (three hours away) ...also in the Inland Empire, California. I applied to the cruise lines and hope to get an offer soon. My friend Paul Sherman (master keyboardist) is touring the Mediterranean at this very moment! I'll try and move back to Las Vegas around Oct 1st.

The Marc Love Pro-Ject in Las Vegas has stalled it seems. We might have to get an agent if it's not too late. Our super talented member Tonja Jacobsen is playing and auditioning with Bertie Higgins (Key Largo) this Labor day weekend ...can't wait to hear how that turned out. Good luck to her ..she deserves it.

I went out last night and saw Neil Morrow at the "Cocky Bull" here in Victorville, California ...he is great! The whole band 'cooked'!! He has a super lead guitarist and drummer that puts him in a different league than most bands.

Hello friends! I've moved back home to LA to be near my mom. Going to try and hook up with the longtime friend and super entertainer MARC LOVE in Las Vegas this month.

Also I'm getting ready to head back to Nashville to sing at the Songwriter's Festival June 21 -22 and maybe record my last two Indy songs. After that I'm going to try and pursue a single or band tour in Europe this year or ...??

I'm still trying to get a high-end singing backup job in a successful touring band ...all is up in the air at this time! Will let you know how it all goes ...

Hi all ...Ira Gilam, Tim Roberge and I ..."3D' ... kicked arse' at the Village in Smokey point! ...what a good time for all! Jacob was there (from Alien Culture)and Meeghan was there as was Lorri and Stephanie. Patty (from my day job cafe) and her husband stopped by ..I was surprised and happy! The new classic rock dance band "3D" is finally started ...

I'm still getting the original new country band together and we'll gig the fairs in spring.

Well it’s almost holiday season and it's still hard finding work. I’ll look for a hot working band that can use me and hopefully get on track. I think I’m done trying to organize musicians!ha

I’ve decided on a more "solo" direction instead of recording in Nashville for an independent record company.

“Mercy of You” I heard is doing well though I don’t know how to find that out.

I need a backer and a job!! More soon …andy

The concert band is starting to form and the dance trio is still alive, but finding it hard to get the local gigs. I'm going to look for a complete working band that needs a little help!
Will still look for a new bass player and lady singer and maybe more as I have a few gigs left ...all should be rocking in the next few weeks.

Our first gig Friday August 4th at Richmond Bch Restaurant & Bar was a blast!.... literally! Between our 1st and 2nd set a canister blew up in the kitchen! A big boom! The place emptied out and the fire trucks came! After we got back in things picked up ...Jill and Izzy and Kelly and the band kept the place jumpin'! It was good to see all the friends ..Lorri, Susan, Victoria & David, LA and many more ..even Tricia & Shannon! A very good gig all in all. Thank you ...andy Joe

Well here it is the Middle of July and "Mercy of You" is still trying to get out there onto radio ....hopefully soon. Sorry for the delay.
The new classic rock dance trio with Tim Roberge and Mike Manson is rehearsed and our gigs start Aug 4th ..all gigs are on the calendar page --we'll take pictures soon.
I'm almost ready to cut the next two songs in Nashville. One song is "Come Saturday Night" ...a favorite of my friends. Also the new video is on the music/video page. More news soon! ..andy joe

It’s time to release Mercy of You in these next few weeks! The wheels seem to turn so slow! I just signed the deal for two new recordings and will be returning to Nashville in the middle of 2006. One of the new songs will be “Come Saturday Night”. I think it’s a hit record, but we still haven’t found the writer! …oh well, the song is great so he or she should show up!

Mercy of you should hit the insidecountry.net charts soon. Keep a watch.

I quit my job at AT&T Wireless (Cingular) and will be hitting the stage like Grant hit Richmond! We are ready to play locally and hone the band with the dance crowd! …so see you soon. I’ll post all gigs on this site.
